Click on photos to enlarge The Seawind facility in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada (30 miles south of Montreal) has the following positions open to experienced, motivated candidates with knowledge of general aviation aircraft. Only candidates meeting the essential requirements will be considered. Senior Aerospace Certification Engineer – Successful candidate will produce certification documents, coordinate efforts with Transport Canada, gather data to complete compliance reports, test reports, and organize tests. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering and professional registration. It also requires five to seven years engineering and design experience in the aerospace industry with working knowledge of FAA Part 23 TCCA AWM 523 standards. Structural/Stress Engineer -- The successful candidate must perform stress analysis for both metal and composite materials using hand calculations and finite element method; generate stress reports and formal compliance documents to fulfill the certification requirements; write test plans and test reports; prepare and oversee structural testing; check and approve engineering drawings in regard to stress aspects; provide support to production and flight testing and liaise with TCCA. The essential requirements for the position are: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering; three years of experience in the aerospace industry in stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses; knowledge of AWM 523 certification requirements; proficiency in aircraft stress analysis using hand calculations; and capability to perform analysis by finite element methods. Knowledge of composite material design and analysis methods is a must. Knowledge and working experience in damage tolerance testing of composite materials is an asset. Technical Writer/Illustrator – Successful candidate will produce aircraft illustrated parts catalog, maintenance manual, and pilot operating handbook. Position requires basic skills in Catia, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD; excellent written English; and good knowledge of Microsoft Word.
